Notify the Social Media provider of an account holder’s death – in one go

What Settld can do
Most people save 20 hours of admin stress and hassle by using Settld to:
Send the social media companies a death notification foraccounts
Request closure or for the account to be memorialised
Request marketing and emails to be stopped
Once you have submitted your Settld form, the notification of death is sent to each company. Most Social Media providers take up to 3 months to complete the account request.

To notify social media providers of the death, we require contact information linked to the account such as the registered email, mobile or landline number of the deceased. A profile link is not mandatory for all providers, but it does speed up the process if you have it to hand.

We will update you on your account dashboard regarding all updates. Although some social media providers do not confirm the accounts have been completed, the status of the account should change within 3-4 months of our notification. If you believe the actions have not been completed, please let us know and we will flag any concerns to the provider for you.

Most companies take up to 6 weeks to update their systems. Unfortunately, timeframes are set by each organisation, and Settld does not have direct control over this process. Wherever possible, Settld works with companies to provide a better bereavement service, so please let us know if problems persist and we will flag this to the Social Media provider for you.
